We can’t leave the country, but there are plenty of places to explore in our own backyard! Here are some of my favorite places to visit in AZ…

Wine Country
Have you heard about Arizona’s wine country? There are 3 regions that grow grapes in the state. In Southern Arizona, you have the Sonoita region and the Wilcox region. Approximately 2 hours north of Phoenix, there is the Verde Valley region encompassing Cottonwood and Jerome—I love it there! Check out the Verde Valley Wine Trail for more info.

Sedona
If you haven’t been to Sedona yet, you are definitely missing out! Art galleries, spas, and New Age shops line the streets of Uptown Sedona, while the outskirts showcase numerous trailheads perfect for hiking. 18 minutes outside of the city is Red Rock State Park, famous for its beautiful red sandstone canyon. For more info, check out the city’s official site.

Havasupai Falls
Who knew you could chase waterfalls in the desert! Havasupai Falls is a gorgeous waterfall you can find after a 10 mile hike in the Grand Canyon. Permits are required but absolutely worth it. Check out this site for reservations.

Prescott
Just shy of a two hour drive, Prescott is a quick and cool retreat from the hustle & bustle of the city. Summer temperatures range from around 60-80 degrees. Explore the woods and surrounding lakes or hang out in the Downtown Historic area that features buildings still intact from the 1800s! More info here.
